Beta Readers Needed

Well, I didn't finish the first draft of my novella in July like I'd hoped, but it is finished. And now I'm hoping some of you will feel interested enough in the story to offer up services as beta readers.

A beta reader looks over the story and offers opinions and advice. It can be simple proof-reading advice, or editorial remarks, or corrections of factual errors. If any of you would like to proof the story, I'd be happy to have you. Eventually, the finished story will be offered for free to anyone who wants it. If you'd like to beta, just click any of the images below to be taken to the live beta version.

The images below are all made by an AI called CRAIYON. Some were then run through a separate image converter to make them vector images. Each is based on a scene in the novella and taken as a whole they tell the story in brief glimpses. Consider it a movie trailer. Below that is the story blurb and the cover.

In a world...

Taken meets 10 Cloverfield Lane meets World War Z
When the niece of former mercenary, Jose "Che" Moran, is kidnapped, Che becomes obsessed with rescuing her; so obsessed that he doesn't notice the zombie uprising starting right under his nose.

A tightly packed novella with twists on every page. Action-adventure fans of every stripe will be blown away by Missing: Presumed Un-Dead.

#56 Amfivolists of the World Unite!

My dad taught me never to enter into somebody else's arguments unless you had a solution. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you, the Amfivolist solution to the etymology/common usage debate over "agnostic."

Before we can ever reach agreement on how to run the country, we have to come to agreement on what things we already agree on.

Like Ghost Stories?

My girlfriend recently started a new blog called "Haunted Me Blog." She's had a full and interesting life which includes several events she can't explain. Being the skeptic I have always been (by nature,) I tend to chalk the stories off to lucid dreaming, creaking/settling foundations, shadows, over-active imaginings, the usual. But she has a knack for telling the stories in an entertaining and suspenseful way that a lot of people seem to enjoy.

So if you are a fan of the spooky and weird; if you enjoy those new ghost-hunting shows; or even if you like the challenge of trying to explain away what others just assume are the super-natural, give it a read. You just might enjoy it.
