Ahh, Irony

FITZGERALD BACKPEDALS

Boy...it sure seems like Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's case against Scooter Libby continues to fall apart. Fitzgerald had stated, with much fanfare, that Vice President Dick Cheney (at President Bush's urging) told Scooter Libby to leak intelligence to the New York Times about Iraq. This caused quite an uproar in the media. Except now, Fitzgerald says that's not true.

Believe it or not, Fitzgerald filed a new document with the judge in the Libby case correcting the matter. It turns out that what the media was reporting about what Libby was told to feed to the New York Times was false. Oops.

Now..follow the mainstream media on this one. The same press that reported that Cheney and Bush told Libby to leak the information aren't saying a word about this one. The record in court is being corrected, but not in the court of public opinion.

Sure looks like this trial is going nowhere fast.
Boortz is a tool. Bush DID tell Libby to leak classified intel and most of the press got the story right. It was only a few that got confused and reported that Libby was specifically told to leak Plame's identity (which he still may have been told, but that's not what Fitz said).

Long-and-short of it. Fitz got it right. A few reporters got the story wrong. Fitz's case is fine. Boortz got it wrong. Will he corect his error about Fitzgerald's error?

Salute Is a Word with Latin Roots

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the Republican party for so thoroughly botching the immigration reform issue so close to the 2006 midterm elections, thus effectively showing the Hispanic populations in such historically red states as Florida and Texas that if they truly want to see their concerns met, the best way to assure that they will be is to vote democrat.

Thanks, GOP.
