My Son Proves What I Knew All Along

Last spring, my son graduated High School with a 4.0 GPA and was named one of four valedictorians. It was a proud moment, and he had worked hard to achieve it. The only drawback was that the school district he graduated from was ranked one of the poorest in the state. It's kind of like winning the minor league baseball world series.

With his GPA in hand, he then managed to all on his own arrange for a full ride scholarship to Ohio State University. He also fenagled a grant which would pay his living expenses provided he maintain a certain GPA level and that he work part time.

His first weeks away were worrisome. His HS alma mater had failed to properly instruct him in the use of the scientific calculator, and he fell slightly behind in his math class. But he resolved to conquer the logarythms, and he succeeded. Well, the first quarter has ended, and he has learned that he received "A"s in all of his classes and an "A-" in Psychology. His overall GPA is a very impressive 3.89.

I'm a very proud parent.
