This past year has found at least two occasions where the press touted the Dow being at a six-year high. What they fail to note is that Bush has been president for six years and that these highs are lower than the highs under Clinton. But to illustrate the absurdity of these headlines, consider this...
Today, the Dow closed having lost 142 points. Now let's say that they rebound a little tomorrow, a little more the next day, and finally in six days they recoup all 142 points. Will the headlines then read that they are at a six DAY high? Of course not.
